Rebecca Hunter

Co-Founder

Rebecca is co-founder of BGH Legacy Group along with her husband, John, and is Chief Executive Officer.  She is a veteran of the financial services industry where she began working with her father, the late Gary Hunter, as an administrative assistant and intern in 1999.  Rebecca is passionate about and highly skilled in helping others navigate the world of investing and retirement planning. 

Rebecca earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and met John while working in the office of a U.S. senator in Washington, D.C. Rebecca is a Registered Representative with NYLIFE Securities LLC and earned her Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow designation (LUTCF) in 2005. She is a Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)1 (2016-2020) and has achieved Executive (2009-2018), President’s (2019), and Chairman’s (2020) councils with New York Life2. She has earned several awards including Investment and Annuity Leader (2006-2008, 2011-2016) and New York Life’s New Agent of the Year for the Idaho General Office (2001). She is also a lifetime member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).

As much as Rebecca loves what she does for a living, her favorite titles are that of wife and mother.  She enjoys attending concerts, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with John and their twin boys, Hunter and Jack. She is famous for her baking skills and makes some of the best ginger snap cookies ever!   Rebecca is active in her local church community where she teaches Sunday school.  She regularly volunteers her time teaching investment seminars and budgeting classes to youth groups, young couples and new mothers.  As a cancer survivor herself, she is passionate about and has contributed much to local initiatives and charities including Camp Rainbow Gold, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.

John Bateman

Co-Founder

John is co-founder of BGH Legacy Group along with his wife, Rebecca, and is Chief Operating Officer. John's responsibilities include planning and overseeing all company operations and projects--including all promotional and marketing initiatives. John was recruited to the financial services industry by Rebecca in 2012 after spending nearly 16 years working as a successful sales representative in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry with companies such as Pfizer, Eli Lilly and Amgen.

John earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and met Rebecca while working for a national lobbying firm in Washington, D.C. In 2012, John earned his securities and insurance licenses and became an agent of New York Life Insurance Company and Registered Representative of NYLIFE Securities LLC. He is a lifetime member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), has consistently achieved Executive Council2 status since joining New York Life (2012-2020) and is a Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)1 as of 2020.

John loves working with his best friend and closest confidant, his wife Rebecca. He also enjoys traveling around the world and has lived for a time in Russia and The Netherlands and speaks Dutch. Having grown up along the mountains of Utah, John enjoys skiing, hiking, golfing and spending time with the "apples of his eye"--his twin boys, Hunter and Jack. John is active in his local church community and has volunteered as a youth mentor and counselor for many years with organizations like the Boy Scouts of America and Idaho Youth Ranch.

Office Manager

Heather is a new and welcome addition to BGH Legacy Group.  As the Office Manager, Heather works hard to keep the office running smoothly.   Among Heather's many talents are her excellent organizational skills, customer focus, and attention to detail.  Heather places a premium on timely, considerate, and personalized customer service.  

Prior to joining BGH Legacy Group, Heather worked for many years in medical management with St. Luke's Healthcare System.  Heather attended Boise State University and accumulated numerous awards and certifications from her previous work in the medical field.  Away from the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her family in the beautiful Idaho outdoors.  Heather’s favorite place to be is in the mountains with her husband (David) and two kids (Rowdy and Gracie).  She also enjoys tending to her beautiful yard and spoiling her family’s two Labrador Retrievers, Bailey, and Finn.
